Welcome to Color Your World – Sermon Materials

It is my plan to contribute sermons for the 5 weeks of the campaign. As a result, I thought that it would be helpful to share a couple of points connected with my sermon blogs, as you prepare yourself to speak God's word into the lives of people in your congregation through the weekly sermons.

One

The purpose of my blogged campaign sermons are to:

  • highlight particular areas relevant to the local community of faith by the pastor
  • motivate members to increasingly connect with the source of life, Jesus, from whom streams of living water flow
  • emphasise or re-iterate points gleaned by members of your local community of faith as they have undertaken the daily readings
  • remind the church of God's purposes being worked through the lives of every member of the church as they seek to color their world with more intensity, more intentionality, more inspiration and more industry.

Two

At the end of my blogged sermons for each week, there are numerous illustrations which may be helpful in representing some of the points being made throughout each sermon. I have emphasised certain parts of the reading. However, as you read the material for each week from Color Your World with Natural Church Development, you may sense by the Spirit that, in your context, another emphasis is required. Naturally, you have liberty to pursue the spirit's leading.

Three

My goal of each sermon outline and library of illustrations is to equip you in preparing a message that reflects your style of presentation and your local church context. For most pastors accessing this part of the campaign materials, preparing sermons is not something new or different we do. Perhaps preparing sermons with this focus or theme is. As each week progresses, we hope you will grow in your ability to assimilate your understanding of the present state of health of your local church, your sermon presentation style and sermon material to be presented. This will enable you to continue along this process beyond the campaign period as you seek to speak life into other areas of the life of your community of faith.

Four

Before undertaking the sermon preparation for any of the weeks, I found it extremely helpful to prepare myself by reading the material for the relevant week. Should you do this, as I did, you will undoubtedly find this invaluable in gaining deeper insight behind the overall theme, and as a result, the outline and illustrations supplied.

Enjoy bringing new and deeper insight to your congregation as you seek to color their world with Natural Church Development.
