Differing levels of relevancy

Anonymous's picture

This is a 2nd survey Story Board for a church that had just increased its average by 11 points since their 1st survey. They now have a very high average (77) and have already begun increasing their growth rate. As is often the case in such dynamic progressing churches, the relevancy of some areas of church life have really moved forward, while some areas have had a little more trouble keeping up.

In the example above, worship service elements are hitting the mark well and contributing strongly to healty growth. On the other hand, bringing church members together to facilitate relevant ministry to non-Christians is not going quite so well.

At the lowest end of the scale we see that relevancy of small group activities is struggling and if left unattended will continue to hinder healthy growth. This is a common scenario in churches that are increasing in health. Group activities that were possibly very relevant for the lives of members at one point in time and have even helped them to 'grow up' have now become a hindrance. In a church with increasing health, relevancy in group life (and every other area) becomes a moving target. Thanks be to God.
