In the first week of the small group part of youth group we introduced the 3 fold God. In this week we specifically looked at the Creator by explaining diferent ways we can see God as creator in our lives today. We looked at passages in the bible and everyday examples from THEIR lives. Here are some words we used to describe the 'green'aspects of God to our youth. -CREATIVE, CREATION (Genisis 1-3) -LIFE GIVING/FATHER (Genisis 2) -JUSTICE/MERCY (Genisis 19) -POLITICAL (Exodus 18:13) -GOODNESS (Acts 5) -WISE (Proverbs 3:19) We found that they were quite excited by the fact that there is much more to God than the 'fluffy'character they thought he was. The green segment caught their attention and they still remember a lot of this particular lesson. Kirras

As some of you may know, here at Lake Community Church, Forest Lake, Ash and I have just finished our first term of leading youth group. It was an interesting term...and we are celebrating the completion of a full test...understand...plan... cycle. Now we have experiences to go from! Our initial action plan was to give the youth the fullest, fattest most overflowing picture of who God is and what that means in their lives today. And we were going to show them through NCD/CYW material.

We decided to introduce them to the 3 fold God, Creator, Jesus and Holy spirit in the first three weeks and then follow that up with the CYW cycle and then some principles from CYW book. The Youth really did take to the creator/jesus/spirit stuff and their eyes were opened through the survey. I have seen first hand the impact this knowledge has had in their everyday lives, they are now more able to analyse situations they come across and see why they do the things they do and how they can change them. WOO-HOO!!
