Re: News Team Stuff

Kevin,

I came across your post today. It's great news to hear your church is doing the Campaign.

The best way to start a News Team is to think of who in your church has the giftedness and passion for multi media and/or journalism. Is there anyone in your church who loves putting together such things as video footage or writing an informative article?

When you think of a few people invite them to form a team, the News Team. Together they can create ideas and figure out how to best convey Campaign news in your church.

To get the ball rolling, an idea could be putting together a short video presentation, which can be played during your worship service. For example have a video of someone interviewing people of different ages, gender, backgrounds, etc asking a simple question such as "How do you reflect God's love to those around you?" - a good question for Week 2: Reflecting all of God's love. You will be amazed at the various responses.

Another way is to have someone write an article each week for your Church newsletter. If your newsletter is published less frequently (such as monthly), release a special weekly bulletin for the duration of the 5 Week Campaign. Have the writer concentrate on the central weekly themes and draw upon what your church is experiencing as a result of the Campaign. You can also have someone publish these articles on this web site through a blog so people all around the world can see how your church has been impacted from doing this Campaign.

I hope I have been of some help to you. Please leave a comment if you have any questions regarding my post.
